What to Expect
Coaching
Expect each student to receive both group and one-on-one coaching from Colorado league-certified coaches who have been thoroughly vetted and care about each student's growth regardless of athletic aptitude
Culture
Expect a fun, challenging, growth mindset from your team and coaches. Knowing that while students get better, stronger, and faster from the coaches and external investment, there will also be games (yes, on bikes) new friendships, and occasional shenanigans.
Because fun is rule #1!
Racing
While racing is not required to be part of the team, it will be a fantastic, transformative experience.
All the races are open to all registered high school athletes. You can expect a professionally conducted race holding to the highest standards in the sport
Come Prepared
Have a clean, safe, functional bike, but don't be afraid to ask for a coach's help
Have a helmet.
Have adequate hydration.
Have snacks.
Carry a spare tube.
Have at least a simple multi-tool or tool kit.
Student Expectations
Yes, there are no tryouts and no bench in mountain biking, but there are requirements for students.
Have a safe bike.
ALWAYS wear a helmet -- No helmet, no ride, no exceptions.
Always maintain respect and kindness toward yourself, your peers, your coaches, and your parents.
Fair Warning
The positive culture is central to the awesomeness of the whole League and Pueblo Composite. As such, it must be protected. Suspension can occur if parents say so, for any reason.
Coaches can suspend students for disruptive or rude behavior at practice, races, or any other team activity,
including drug or alcohol use or criminal activities.
